Matrix Program- The objective

Art Centrix Space conceived the Matrix program in May 2022 in order to bring different practitioners from the domain of art and allied inter-disciplinary practices together with a sense of care, nurture and support. With this program, we intended to generate a ‘matrix’ from which an artistic ecosystem could emerge; one with unrestricted possibilities for artistic motivation that embodied artistic pluralism unburdened by political, economic and regional constraints.

The attempt of this program was to trigger dialogues and subsequent artistic productions by conceptualising various forms of conversations, walkthroughs, dialogues, curatorial interventions and engagements. 

Thus, it is intended to be a fertile ground for exchange of ideas, and a support structure for both artists and curators, through which different layers of imagination, criticality and a sense of individuality in togetherness can be produced and instumentalised. With the hope that this culminates into a multitude of artistic practices and new explorations into their conceptual potentials, we are launching the first in a series of exhibitions.

The show -Matrix | Succinct ecosystems of thought

This show brings together three of our gallery represented artists - Siri Devi Khandavilli based in New York, originally from Bengaluru, Ruchika Wason Singh from Delhi and Pinaki Ranjan Mohanty who works out of Bhubaneshwar, Orissa. Their work defies geographical location, conventional ways of seeing and above all demonstrates, how unbridled thought is shaping powerful contemporary Indian art across the world today. With their work, this exhibition is more than a curation of art, it is rather, a symphony of perspectives, amplifying vernacular expressions and weaving a tapestry of thoughts.

As you navigates this exhibition, we hope you discover the various barriers and challenges faced by artists in their journey and, how they overcoming them while continuing to actively support their community.
